Holy Island visitors and what they say

Our guests come to Holy Island to celebrate wedding anniversaries and birthdays, to go walking and bird-watching (record for one week: 106 species), to have quiet times and retreats, to enjoy honeymoons, to let the kids roam free on family holidays, to get together with friends, to relax and get away from it all, to explore Northumberland, and lots more. Whatever the reason for your visit, Britannia House and The Cottage offer the perfect home from home.

The Cottage

From first walking through the door, ‘The Cottage’ felt like home. The lemon drizzle cake has been taken on picnics and enjoyed in all corners of the Island. We would like to stay for ever, but the real world beckons – we take home with us memories of a perfect holiday on a magical island.

What a fantastic place for a family holiday. Aidan (3) and Tamsin (14 months) have not been in the car since we arrived. Beautiful weather for expeditions to the other end of the island, and the two nearer beaches – both children have been in their element.

We’ve had another great holiday – starting off with our favourite cake and the lovely surprise of the new bedroom. Two weeks this time, and still not long enough! The cameras have worked overtime so plenty of visual memories to take back. This year we managed to walk across the Pilgrim Causeway in bare feet – mudpacks for the feet!

Another lovely stay on the Island. Cottage is lovely and warm, beds are comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need.

Another wonderful visit. We have stayed in both Britannia House and The Cottage, both of which we settled into within 5 minutes! Both properties are a credit to the care and attention that Katharine has paid to making them feel like a second home. We have had fantastic weather – snow and blizzards on Tuesday that made the Island look wonderful – we had a great walk watching the waves crashing onto the rocks. The rest of the week has been sunny, bright and even quite warm! Thank you for a wonderful visit – we will be back very soon.

Britannia House

What a wonderful break we’ve had with our son, wife and girls – so relaxing – another world. Your house is so homely and cosy – it was lovely to find the welcoming cake.

What a special sanctuary, away from the hustle and bustle! A delightful house with all you need; peace, comfort and warmth.

Blissful peace and quiet. Warm, comfortable homely place in a convenient position. We’ve had an idyllic time – thank you for your friendly welcome.

A lovely restful holiday in a beautiful cottage; everything provided that we could possibly need and a roaring driftwood fire to relax in front of in the evenings. Lindisfarne is our favourite place, and now we’ve found Britannia House we’ll be back again.

This has got to be the best self catering accommodation we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. A lovely house with thoughtful and tasteful renovations. Lindisfarne is a beautiful place and we had a lovely time walking all over the island.

Another brilliant week in this ‘home from home’! We really like the loft conversion – an excellent addition to this already superb accommodation – well done.

A wonderful few days. Lovely cottage and we love the fact it’s so ‘green’. So peaceful on Holy Island and gorgeous weather.

This is one of the best, well kept cottages we have rented anywhere in GB or Europe!
Well done!
